Our Big ONE Year Old!

IMG_5601

Well, I am truly almost an entire month behind on this post sweet boy, but it has been a busy month!  They all are these days, and that is partially because of you!  Winking smile  I am still planning a 13 month post so this one will only cover what you were doing up until 12 months.  Trust me, that is enough!  Seems like you changed a TON from 11 months to 1 year old!  Did you think you had to grow up and not be a baby anymore since it was your birthday?

Your 12 month stats are… weight = 19 lbs and 10 oz (25%), height = 29 1/2 in (25%), and head circumference = 50%.  You have two bottom teeth and 3 top teeth (with the 4th almost in).  They are hard to catch in a picture, but you are enjoying new foods because of them!

Dr. Catherine said you looked just perfect at your check-up and was very impressed with your growing vocabulary!  She said 1-3 words was expected at 12 months, and chatty boy, you already say momma, dadda, uh-oh, ball, bubba, and bye-bye!  Must be that big brain!

You have learned all kind of new tricks this month!  You love to talk on the telephone, feed the baby (or yourself), give kisses (sweet, sloppy, open mouth ones!), and brush your hair.

You are also so proud of yourself for finally getting that belly off the floor and really crawling.  You have been mobile for a long time, but now you just look like a big kid crawling around.  No more army crawling for you!

You are a mischievous little booger too!  You have been caught red-handed many times making BIG messes.  It’s pretty tough to  be upset with you though when you give me that innocent “You mean I wasn’t supposed to do this?” look or that sweet smile of yours!

I have started trying to figure out ways to contain you though when I need to give my attention to something else- like folding clothes, doing dishes, etc.  Luckily you are a pretty good sport about it!

You are, however, one of the most tender-hearted kiddos I know.  All it takes is a true “no-no” from momma and your little heart is majorly broken.  It’s tough learning that we can’t throw our food on the ground!

You adore your big brother and sister and love getting to do what they do!  You have learned several new tricks just by copying them!  Cole is the one who finally got you up off your belly to crawl by crawling around on the floor with you, and he and Jordan both taught you to make Indian noises with your mouth!

And nothing is better than playtime with your Daddy!  You could play ball for hours!  You also love rough housing on the bed with him.  I didn’t have a video of him knocking you around with pillows, but you are happy to play this fun game with anyone now… even momma!

You like to do the getting too though!  Luckily Cole and Jordan think this is hilarious…

And a few extra pictures just because you are so cute that I can’t stop taking them…

Hayes, in some ways, I can’t believe it has been a whole year since you joined our family.  How fast it has flown by!  In other ways, I can hardly remember life without you.  You, my baby boy, are a special treasure.  Your smile and easy-going ways have been such a blessing to our family.  Watching your big brother and sister love on you and you grow to love them in return has been awesome.  Your sweet cuddles and snuggles are some of the sweetest moments a momma could have!  We have loved seeing you try and figure out new things.  You really make all of our lives so much happier.  We love you more than you can imagine and are so thankful God made you a part of our family.  We pray that you will grow to love and know Him personally and deeply.  We know that He has an amazing plan for you that will use all your talents and unique characteristics to accomplish great things for His Kingdom.  Enjoy this look back at all you have done and accomplished in this year!
