Cole is changing more and more everyday. His little arms and legs are getting so chunky. He is so interactive, and LOVES to play. Mommy has to have a LOT of energy to keep up with him! One of the newest things is that we started rice cereal this week. Here is the first try... still not much more crazy about it than he is in this video, but we will keep trying. =)
He is rolling over a lot more now... Today when Murray and I went into get him up from his nap, he had rolled to rail of his bed and was trying to eat his way out of his crib! Haha.
He is also laughing right out loud now. He, like everyone else, thinks Murray is so funny. He is loving "beating up" his daddy in this video.
Happy Early Anniversary to us!!! Murray and I headed to Orlando this past weekend for an early anniversary trip. We went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We left Cole behind with my parents, and, although we really missed him, it was a lot of fun just being the 2 of us again.
Ready to be there! Yay! So excited! We had beautiful weather the whole time.
Both theme parks were so fun. We really couldn't pick a favorite ride.
"The Adventure Begins..."
Aren't we cool in our 3D glasses?
Popeye's water ride...
Just when we thought we were a little wet...
We went on Ripsaw Falls and got REALLY wet!
Murray in front of the new Simpsons' ride.
Me in front of the Men in Black ride. I have to admit that Murray beat me everytime at killing the aliens. Those hours spent hunting came in handy I guess.
Check out Murray's Spidey skills! And his face... Haha.
The Mummy ride. Very fun!
They just opened the Rock It rollercoaster. It was crazy! Each person could pick the music they wanted to listen to during the ride. Look at the start. Straight up! We got so lucky with lines. We hardly waited in any and rode all the best rides multiple times.
Checking out the Blues Brothers' show.
To Murray's highschool buddies... does his friend bring back any funny memories of Murray?
Running from T-Rex... Very Scary!
Some of the characters we saw... Scooby and Shaggy in the Mystery Machine.
Dr. Brown from Back to the Future
Popeye and Olive... This guy did the best impression!
Super heroes to the rescue!
My personal super hero.
This one is for Logan! ;)
Cole said he didn't mind us being gone even though he did miss us since we brought him back such cool outfits! Look at the big muscles he grew while we were gone!
Cole was 4 months old yesterday. So hard to believe. He is so much fun, and I am loving having the opportunity to stay home with him. Thanks Murray! Yesterday at his doctor's appointment he weighed 13lbs 1oz and was 24in long. Everyday he is learning something new, and I know that he will only continue to do this more and more.
He still smiles all the time although it is getting harder and harder to catch his precious smile in a picture without his hands in his mouth covering it up! He has definitely found his hands and is constantly sucking on fingers or his thumb. He loves to lay on his changing table and talk to us. He has started reaching up and grabbing my hair when I lean over him. It's like he is holding me there to make sure I pay really close attention to what he is saying. He is sleeping better... lays down in his bed and goes to sleep on his own for naps! Getting at least one longer stretch at night that we are hoping will turn into 2 pretty soon! He is starting to like being played with a little rougher... he loves to me lifted up in the air or to be "gotten." He wants to face out to see everything all the time, and he has really started wanting to stand up instead of sitting in your lap. He loves to look at books and tries to grab them himself. He is getting better at being able to grab toys and pull them to his mouth. He has put a couple of rolls together a few times... not so great at this yet though. He has started sitting in his Bumbo seat and looks so big in it!
Cole is starting to make all kinds of new sounds now. His newest sound is like a motor. He does it best when he is mad which makes it hard not to laugh at him, but it is just so cute. Here he is doing it while happy. Haha.
That's about it for now... I can't wait to see all he does this month!
Here are some pictures that I have been meaning to post... things have been a little busy. Like always. =) Such a happy boy, and he loves his great grandparents! I think that they think he is pretty great too! Murray got his first deer with his bow! Easton always willing to help with Baby Cole. Sword fighting gets dangerous!
Don't you just love fall? The tree in our backyard is gorgeous. The picture doesn't do it justice!
Murray and I are heading to Orlando, FL this weekend for an early anniversary trip. Cole is going to be staying with Nonny & Poppy (my parents). I know he will be just fine, but I have to admit my nerves are growing more and more everyday. I am super excited to have some me and Murray time, but 3 days away from my sweet baby is a little scary! I have tons of milk stored up, and I know he will be nothing but absolutely spoiled so I'm gonna try to relax and have fun. I'm sure Murray will help a lot with that. =) Anyway, next post will be about our trip!
We had a fun time dressing Cole up as a cowboy for Halloween. He wasn't totally crazy about the hat so we didn't get many smiles, but I guess he just knew cowboys were supposed to be rough and tough. In case you are wondering what Murray and I dressed up like... we are dressed up as ourselves pre-Cole. Haha... We actually went out on a date Saturday night and left Cole with Murray's parents who were in town visiting. We went to dinner AND a movie!!! SO fun!
Our cute neighbors... Our little cowboy riding his bronco...
Getting bucked...
The bronco really got crazy!
He won the big belt buckle though! =)
Sunday we went to IN to see some of my cousins and their kiddos. Abram is 9 months old.
Miles and Wyatt are so funny! They were showing how they were big, medium, and small. Alicia helped Cole out in the picture. =)
Cole is figuring out how to laugh, and I just can't get enough of it! Of course, true to the Butler man code... he is laughing about his stinky poopoo. Oh well, it's still cute! =)
We took advantage of Murray's rare evening off this month and headed to the zoo for "The World's Biggest Halloween Party!" Even though Cole was too little to really care much or trick or treat, we all had a fun time. The weather was so nice, and Cole actually did seem to enjoy looking around at everything... and chewing on his baby carrier. Haha. Here are some pictures from the big event.
Cole of course was very excited about the zoo... Just a little annoyed at how dumb mom and dad were for thinking he would fit in his carseat with the bear outfit on... Like I said, we enjoyed ourselves. Haha. Cole... give us your best caveman face... well, good try. =) Cole and the ladies. It was so neat how they had the zoo decorated to movie themes. Cole with Daddy, Shrek & Fiona
This pumpkin freaked us out at first because we didn't realize there was a person inside it with a microphone... you just don't expect a big pumpkin to start talking specifically to you! Haha.
And here are a couple extras of Cole & Easton in their matching glow-in-the-dark shirts that Mimi got them. Too cute!
The ladies at our church have a tradition of hosting a welcoming lunch for new members. Today was the day for mine, and it was so nice! I was really blessed to get a chance to know some of the girls better. Having Cole right when we got here has made it tough to have much hang out time with anyone so it was really fun today. Cole was so good, and, even if he had acted up, it would have been ok. Look at the picture below, and you will know why. Everyone there has had at least one kid and would understand! There were 8 of us there plus the 9 kids under the age of 3. What you are missing are the 7 other kids that are old enough for school now!
This is Davis... one of Cole's best buddies. Murray and I went to Freed with his parents. He is a few months older than Cole, but I know they will be big pals before too long.
Here is another picture of the boys with Slade who is a couple months older than Davis. I see some trouble in the future with these 3!
For a Cole update... He can roll over from front to back and back to front really easily now. In fact he just learned to roll to the right side from his back yesterday. This has made sleeping SO much better. I actually stuck to the back to sleep thing so now that he can get on his tummy on his own, we are having much longer stretches. Last night... 8 hours! A record for sure!!! And today he took a 3 hour nap IN HIS BED?!?! We have been working really hard on this so I am one proud mommy!
He is also loving his hands and chews on them constantly. It's hard to get a picture of him without his hands in his mouth now. He is starting to reach for toys now too, and, if he can get a hold of one, it is immediately in his mouth. He loves tummy time! I can hardly keep him on his back now.
He still thinks that Duke is the funniest person in our family. And we went for our first run together yesterday. He seemed to enjoy it, and, although I'm out of shape, I really did too! Here is a picture of Cole in his jogging stroller. Thanks Mimi & PopPop!
I'm a 26 year old that is happily married to a crazy, fun-loving person! We just had our first baby, and we could not be more in love with him! He makes our life so much richer! I have the best family and friends in the world, the world's sweetest dog, my incredibly cute husband, and the most precious baby boy ever. God has been good to us!
