Going to School!

Cole was invited to his sweet friend Gracie’s 3rd birthday party this weekend.  Her mom, Sara, did a school theme, and it was SO stinkin’ cute!  They had lunch, made a craft, had to line up, went to story time, and even went on a field trip… on a REAL school bus!  The kids were SO excited, and it was so fun to watch.

Cole with the birthday girl… Isn’t her school bus yellow tutu adorable?!?!

They sang the Wheels on the Bus and read books about school buses.

Time for cake and presents!

And then came the big surprise… a special ride on a school bus!

Cole was so excited and kept saying over and over “I’m on a school bus!  This is cool!  I can see all kinds of things out my window!  I’m on a school bus!  This is fun!”  Haha.

My favorite part of the ride…

Even Sissy got in on the bus fun!

Best attempt at all the kids on the bus!

We had a wonderful time, and I know I will be hearing about Gracie’s party for a long time!  Hope Cole is still satisfied with the Mickey Mouse party he has been asking for up till now!  Haha.

Getting Bigger All the Time!

It’s the little things that catch you off guard.  This morning, Cole and I were having our usual debate about having to put on socks and shoes.  I told him we couldn’t go to the zoo without them on so he needed to think about it while I changed Jordan’s diaper, and then I would come back to help him.  I came back a minute later, and he had them on… ALL BY HIMSELF!  Now I’m sure there are those of you out there who are thinking… Yeah- so what?  He’s big enough.  But to me, this was so crazy!  I guess I never take the time to let him try it himself so I just didn’t know he could.  I was so proud of him, but it really made me realize how much he is growing up.  Right after his big moment!

Jordan is getting so big too!  Last night at dinner, she took bites of a banana- like I held the whole thing up and she took bites… like a grown-up!  Then she ate a ton of lasagna and a breadstick!  Not to mention she is getting really good at her sippy cup and is SO proud of herself!

Cole was pretty proud of himself too because he turned his breadstick into the letter X.

And I know this isn’t a big deal, but the last few times Jordan has fallen asleep in the car, we have been able to take her out and carry her in like this… She looks like a big kid asleep on her Daddy!

Definitely trying to soak up every second of their “littleness” because I can already feel it slipping through my fingers!

2 Weeks & What a Difference!

This is our house and yard covered in snow 2 weeks ago…

This is our house and yard all pretty and blooming!

We have had several 80+ degree days here lately, and we are loving it!  I don’t know how hot the summer will end up if this warm of weather in March is any indication though!  We have spent the last few days outside almost all day.  We worked in the yard and planted “pretty purple flowers” as Cole continues to call them.

Jordan is definitely going to be a little tomboy!  She LOVED playing in the dirt.

Cole even perfected his worm catching skills!

We have also been to the zoo 2 days in a row!  Yesterday, Cole, Jordan, and I headed to the zoo with our good friends Emily, Jackson, and Andee.  Cole and Jackson were so excited and kept telling us “Get your cameras ready!”  We definitely got some cute Kodak moments from them!  I promise they didn’t just pose… they did look at the real animals too!

And our sweet girls at the start of the trip…

And at the end of the trip!  Haha.

Today we went with Amber, Grant, Christy, Joseph, Stephanie, and Carly.  We took up most of the path with our group today!  Once again, Cole had so much fun.  We took the wagon this time, and Jordan had a great time riding around in it and eating cheerios and animal crackers.

Of course we had to stop and play in the van for a while too.  Almost managed to catch all of the kids (minus Jordan) in a picture…  not the best picture ever, but hey.

Then we hit up the playground.  Cole & JoJo were pretending to be gorillas crossing the bridge.

Cole was so sweet and wanted to push Jordan.  She was loving it!

Then he needed to swing too, and there was only one swing so…

Jordan continued to swing while Cole joined the other kids and watched the tiger down below.

Cole & Carly were big buds today for sure.  They were so cute walking around like this!

DSCN1354

They even rode the carousel… Cole did much better this year than last, but was still pretty serious about it.  Check out that face while he was waving at me.

Very excited that spring is here!  Can’t wait for more pretty days and fun times outside.  My kiddos couldn’t love being outside any more, and this momma is very ok with that!  (Although I am considering buying stock in sunscreen. Winking smile)
