There is no doubt about it- Murray is the fun parent. I mean, don’t get me wrong… he makes them behave and expects a lot out of them. It’s just that his general silliness and goofy personality are perfect for the stage our kids are in right now. They love his silly dances, creative games, funny songs, and weird noises. He has always kept me laughing so it just makes sense that he keeps them laughing too. I just have a little harder time letting loose and being that crazy. Haha. I’m more of a structured play kind of a mom. The kids like it too, but usually prefer Murray’s ideas. And I’m totally good with that. I’m SO thankful that they have a fun daddy that teaches them things that I would have a hard time teaching. They could stand to grow up a little less Type A than their momma.
All that being said, I can organize some pretty fun stuff, and here’s the proof…
I’m great at taking them to play with friends. Here is one of our newer friends, William. His house was the best because he has a SANDBOX!!!

I also take them in the jogging stroller for fun rides. Sometimes we even run to the park and back, stopping in the middle for some playground fun! (This is a smile by the way… the “cheese” got us.)

And look what I taught Cole to do all by himself!
Feeding the ducks before running home…

Before school on Thursday, I was able to take Cole for donuts! He was really excited and told me he loves me even more than he loves ice cream.

I even coordinated a lunch date for Jordan and Daddy! She was pretty happy about it!

Today Murray had a full day of office followed by a mens’ retreat tonight so the kids and I had the entire day to ourselves. We made the most of it! It started out at an open gym. At first Cole informed me that gymnastics was just for girls, but I’m pretty sure after going today that he will gladly go back ANY time!

We headed to ChickFilA for lunch. We played, ate, shared a mixed sprite and Hi-C drink, and got ice cream!

Jordan needed rescued… I don’t normally play up there with them, but hey- photo op right?

After naptime, we had Evangelin come play! They had the best time playing Doc McStuffins, Ice Cream Truck, trains, caves, etc.

The girls did get a little engrossed in Princess Sofia…

Then we headed out for a nutritious meal at Taco Bell! Lots of full mouths in this picture.

So, it may not be rain puddles, turtles, or slimy worms, but I think I can occasionally hold my own in the fun department.
