Our smart boy!

So I have to admit that I got so far behind on my posts with being out of town at the start of the month that I sorta skimped on Cole's 15 month post. I feel like I usually go into much more detail about all of his new developments- which some of you may skip over anyway. Haha. But for those of you who love to know every little thing there is to know about him... I will brag a little more now.

The main thing that I really want to talk about is how much more he is saying. Granted, the pronunciation isn't always just right, but these are the words that Cole is saying independently (without being prompted by me or Murray) and that at least Murray and I can understand:
shoes, choo-choo, momma, dada, hello, elmo, bite, drink, cheerio, up, down, slide, pumpkin, uh-oh, swing, wee, cheese, apple, yay, all done, outside, hi, bye-bye, all gone, bath, bubble, water, ball, turtle, rock, bible, dip, hot, drive, and (unfortunately) no.

Besides all of those words, he is saying more and more names like I mentioned in his 15 month post. He also can say the sounds of all of these animals:
dog, duck, cat, cow, horse, sheep, pig (FINALLY just got this one), lion, monkey, elephant, dinosaur, tiger, bear, snake, lizard (sticks his tongue out), frog, bunny (hop, hop), owl, penguin, and fish (swimmie, swimmie- for those of you who didn't know what sound a fish makes. haha.)

What really impresses me even more than the words he is saying is what he is saying... for example, after the park the other day, we were going to eat at the mall's food court with all our friends. I was talking to Cole in the car, asking him if he was hungry and what he wanted to eat. I mentioned chicken nuggets and pizza. Cole promptly says... hot dog. Haha. I was thinking- did you seriously just answer me? So weird! Too bad there weren't any hot dogs at the mall.

Also, when I was taking Cole over to Liz's for the morning so I could go work a few hours, he was completely quiet the whole ride. He had to be woken up earlier than normal so that I could be on time. I was just letting him have his quiet time because I definitely understand not being a morning person so I didn't mention where we were going or anything. When we turned onto their street, Cole perks up and says "Davis!!!" over and over. How did he know where we were?!?!?

And when we were playing out in the yard the other day Cole needed a diaper change... quite stinky! I told him we needed to go in to change his stinky pants. He preceded to hold up his finger, wave it up and down 3 times, and babble what I know meant "just one minute." I say this to him ALL the time when I am doing something and can't give him my complete attention right that second. I mean... my 15 month old just told me to wait. Oh my goodness!

I know that all of you are tired of my babbling by now so I will leave you with this video. At supper tonight Cole held up his finger and said light. He has done this before, and I always think he is pointing to our light above the table. For some reason tonight it occurred to me that maybe he was talking about the song "This Little Christian Light of Mine." They sing it at bible class, and I have sung it before but not very often and usually in the car when I can't do the motions or watch him really. However, tonight he amazed Murray and me when he knew ALL the motions. What else is he learning that we don't know? Kinda scary! Haha. Enjoy!

Enjoying October!

Daddy has been really busy this month with work, but Cole and I have made the most of our sad time without him by hanging out with lots of friends! The weather has been so nice this month, and Cole is LOVING being outside. We have been on lots of runs in the mornings and have played outside a bunch in the afternoons when it warms up just a little more. We are loving fall this year for sure!

Since Daddy was working late Thursday night, we took our friends Liz and Davis up on a free ticket to go back to the Halloween party at the zoo. We definitely missed Daddy this time, but it was fun to run around with friends! Still not crazy about the characters, but definitely still very into the candy... check out his face as the pictures go on. =)
Sweet friends & sweet candy! What could be better?!?!

Look at the size of these pumpkins guys!

Love them!

They were so sweet to this Alice in Wonderland dog... suckers and kisses were shared. Haha.

Checking out the ducks and enjoying their suckers.

Silly boys!

Taking a rest from all the trick or treating... it'll wear a guy out- ya know? By the way... see the messy face?

Movin' and groovin' to Disney songs! Davis and Cole both have a great/unique sense of rhythm and some awesome dance moves! (*Don't worry when you see the end of this video... no children were actually harmed in the making of this video. Haha*)

Group shot... this was tricky. You can imagine. Haha.

When we got home from the zoo, we had a fun surprise in the mail from Mimi and PopPop... Cole loves the music cards, and this one was no exception! Thanks Mimi & PopPop!!!

Today our friend Slade came to play while his mommy had to work for a few hours. Slade is such a sweet friend and so laid back! He just plays so happily all the time. (Well at least while he was here, but I bet his mom would agree with me too.) I was really glad at least one kiddo was easy-going because let's just say that Cole definitely didn't wake up on the nice side of the bed this morning. In his defense... we are cutting molars. Poor baby. Despite the teething fussiness, we had a fun time playing inside and outside and going on a bike ride. Thanks for coming to play with us Slade!
What better way to start the day than clean! They had a big time in the bath!

Good job washing your hair Cole! ;)

Playing outside... still a little chilly.

Weeeee!

Ready for a ride! All tucked in- nice and cozy!

Back inside where it is warm- thank goodness! "Hmmmm... what toys will make the biggest mess?!?!" Haha.

Sweet friends sharing toys.

Look at this cool turtle!

We are really so blessed to have friends that help us enjoy the time when we can't be spending it as a family. Thanks for all the fun guys!

Fall, Friends, & Fun!

We headed to the park today with a bunch of our friends. We had such a great time. The pictures really say it better than I can so enjoy!!!
The boys LOVED the leaves! They played in them forever!

Sweet smile!

Look out... Cole is coming through!

What a fun game! Throwing leaves!

Liz was full of fun today... all the boys riding their "horse."

"Mom... this is SO fun!!!"

Look at these sweet boys! Love them!

Attempt at a group shot... this was the best one. Haha.

Libby was much happier when we moved back to the playground. She wasn't sure why the boys liked the leaves so much. =)

Cole always loves being pushed in the swing!

Thanks guys for such a fun day! We love having so many little boys to play with... and Libby to keep them all straight!

The World's Largest Halloween Party!

Tonight we headed to the zoo for...

Isn't he the cutest dragon you have ever seen? Here he is telling us what noise a dinosaur/dragon makes.

Waiting in line to see characters he was afraid of... haha.

But he loved the candy... paper on or off!

So cute!

Going through the hay/pumpkin maze!

He was so happy!

Eating his Mummy Dog!

One of the few pictures that he was actually looking at the camera for...

Dancing to the music!

Thanks for the ride dad!

Always wanting to climb! Our big boy!

Little nervous about Woody & Buzz!

He loved the dwarfs though... more his size!

Murray and I decided if all the characters handed out candy, he wouldn't have been scared of anyone!

Taking time to smell the roses...

Until all the candy kicked in, and he decided to run in circles!

Family shot! Cole was kinda over pictures at this point. =)

***2 more new posts below!***

15 Months Old!

Cole turned 15 months old on the 10th... I know I'm behind. Remember when I said we have been busy? Anyway, each month I think, I wonder how much he will change by my next post, and each month I am blown away. He has gone crazy with new words, physical changes, etc.

He is starting to call family members by name (Pop, Nana, LoLo, Joe, Tom, etc). We love watching his personality develop... even if it brings about some trying moments sometimes. At his check-up we found out he weighs 21 lbs 12 oz (10%) and is 30 in tall (25%). Moving on up!

Overall, each day gets more and more fun. As always, he loves being outside... especially now that it is cooler and the mosquitoes are gone! Here are some cute pictures from today. He was loving having his daddy home (a rare thing on these Ortho months!).
Working out with Daddy... Up, down, up, down!

Watching leaves fall when Momma throws them up is so fun!

Pretending to be an airplane with Daddy! Love it!

Silly Cole & Mommy! Leaves don't go on your heads!

Aaaah Daddy!

Driving never gets old!

Who stole daddy's hat? Looking good dude!

Swinging with Mommy. Love these sweet, rare, cuddly moments!

Here are a couple videos of 2 of his newest things. He could sing this song over and over and NEVER get tired of it... sometimes I wish we could find a new favorite. Haha.

I could watch this one over and over. (Just in case you can't understand him... he is saying Elmo's World.
