It’s a BOY!!!

We had our big ultrasound last Thursday!  The kids were really excited to find out whether the baby is a boy or girl.  They were pretty opinionated!

The best news was that Baby Butler #3 looks healthy and is growing!  Everything checked out just right!

The other good news was that It’s a BOY!  We had tried to peak at Murray’s office, and we thought we had determined that baby was a girl.  We tried to prepare Cole that it might be and probably would be a girl, but he wasn’t buying it.  And as soon as the ultrasound tech put the probe on my belly, we realized that we were VERY wrong, and Cole was VERY right!  It is obviously a boy!  Who knows what we were looking at!  Haha.

Here is the video of the kids finding out… Too funny!

We met my family for dinner that night, and my mom had these flowers on the table awaiting the big reveal!  She also had a present ready for whether it was a girl or boy.  So fun to open sweet baby clothes!

The rest of our family that couldn’t be there got this awesome picture.  Jordan’s face goes along with her feelings about a baby brother instead of a baby sister.

We really are feeling so blessed right now.  We are so excited about a new little boy to love and play with, and we are so happy for Cole to get his baby brother that he wanted so badly.  As far as Jordan goes… right now Murray says he thinks she will be happy being the only family princess.  Winking smile   We are still working on a name for this little boy so I’ll have to get back to you on that one.  We struggle with names, and like I said, we thought it was a girl and were concentrating on girl names.

Hard to believe this pregnancy is already half over.  Things just move faster and faster every day!

Father’s Day

We got back in town from Mexico just in time to be able to spend Father’s Day in Huntingdon with Murray’s family.  We had such a great day and crammed as much fun into that day as we could.  We had a delicious lunch with all the extended family, took the typical “the sun’s so bright” pictures, and then headed to the pool!

The boys really wanted Murray and Joseph to throw them in the pool.  It was all going so well…

Until this…  Haha.  Actually he thought it was awesome and his 1/2 flip has become a double flip when he tells the story!  He is his father’s son… J/K!

Jordan stuck pretty close to her Mimi (no surprise!). They had too much fun!

The boys then went on to jumping in the pool together…

And then Jordan surprised us all!

The whole crazy group!

After all that swimming, they worked up the need for a snack and a rest.  Jordan ended up passing out while putting a cheeto in her mouth!

We are blessed with a WONDERFUL daddy, PopPop, Poppy, and Great Grandpas.  So thankful that my kids have so many Godly examples in their lives.  The concept of our Heavenly Father’s love will be so much easier for them to grasp because of the love these men show them all the time.  We love you guys!

Mexican Vacation

we had the best time in Mexico a couple weeks ago.  We had perfect weather, an awesome pool setup for the kids, and wonderful quality family time.  I apologize in advance for all the pictures.  I only included ones of our immediate family, and I still had to leave so many out.  Let’s put it this way… I came home with close to 1500 pictures to sort through so this is actually really not that many.  Haha.  Cole and Jordan really loved so many things about the week, but one of the highlights for them was, of course, the airplane.  They were so cute walking through the airport with their Cars and Dora carry-on suitcases!  They felt so big!

Jordan loved the continuous snacks as you can tell!

They also found plenty of other ways to entertain themselves!

Even after a LONG day of traveling there, they were begging to get in the pool as soon as we got to the house.  We compromised with letting them get their feet in, but they were up and going early the next morning and were water bugs the rest of our time there!

Jordan is just like Cole was… no fear of the water, swims around like a fish, and goes under like a pro!

I thought Cole was comfortable in the water last summer, but he is at a whole new level now.  He pretty much swims independently without a float, but I’m just too nervous still to let him do it without us in the pool.

Here is a “diving” game that he and Aunt Neesha were playing…

Mommy is pretty fun in the pool…

But, Daddy probably wins the prize in that category!

One really nice thing about the trip was that we had so many other people there that Mommy and Daddy got to relax and just be Erin and Murray some times too!

Jordan loved the ocean!  She kept asking to go down and see the waves.  She also loved looking for snails, hermit crabs, and fish off the pier in front of the house.

Look at these two bathing beauties!!!

Ahhhh, hammock time!

The kids did spend a little time out of the pool so their carry-ons full of toys came in handy!  Although there were many things to do besides swim at the house anyway…

Look for lizards…

We usually ended each night winding down watching a little Backyardigans or Diego.

Tuesday, Murray, Cole, and I went deep sea fishing with Nonny, Poppy, Smith, Justin, and Neesha.  Murray and Cole caught a barracuda!  Cole was pumped.  He said, “I’ve never caught a barracuda before!”  Haha.  He was also so excited when Uncle Smith caught a sailfish (or sword-sail fish as Cole calls it).

Wednesday, we all went snorkeling.  I have to admit, snorkeling isn’t really my favorite thing anyways, and this trip, I basically had a panic attack.  We got way too close to a couple fish with big teeth… Anyway, Cole and Jordan enjoyed being able to see all the little fish around the snorkeling starting point.  They also liked trying to spot all the iguanas on our way to the lagoon.

Their favorite part that day was the new pool they got to try out and playing “dolphin show” with Nonny!

Some posed shots…

Most nights we stayed at the house, but one night we walked into town to look through some of the little shops and see the animals at the Dolphin Discovery complex.  The kids enjoyed trying on all the silly hats!

DSCN8534DSCN8535

And eating pizza!  The mexican food we ate all week was incredible, but sometimes it is nice to have a family favorite!

Checking out the animals…

I have to admit, it was a little hard to come back, but at the same time, it is always nice to be home.  So grateful to have had the opportunity to go to Puerto Adventuras, spend so much time with my family, and have Murray to ourselves for an entire week!  It was definitely a week full of precious memories!
