Huber's Farm

It is finally starting to feel like fall around here... at least for a few days. Haha. Murray is getting ready for his really busy rotation of Ortho Trauma in October so we are trying to make the most of the afternoons the rest of this month. Monday afternoon we headed to Huber's Farm in Indiana. We had the best time! Cole loved being outside, seeing the animals, waving to everyone, sliding down a huge slide, and picking a pumpkin!

We visited this place last year and had a fun but slightly different experience since Cole was so much younger... here is a picture of last year...

and this year... where did our baby go? Look at this little boy! So crazy!

On the wagon ride out to see all the animals! Cole loved riding in the wagon. He kept saying "weeee" or "yay" the whole time!

Feeding the goats with Daddy... definitely glad we were on this side of the fence! Talk about a stampede! Haha.

Bunny Town was more up Cole's alley! He loved watching them "hop hop!"

There were lots of these animal statues everywhere, but of course Cole loved the duck! He just kept quacking and quacking.

He did like riding the big horse with Daddy though!

Well... who am I kidding? He really rode every one of the animals. Haha.

Swinging with Momma... ahhhh!

First time on a tire swing! So big!

Ok... is he not so cute? I just love him!

Now for the HUGE slide! This kid has no fear!

All by himself! He loved it. As soon as he hit the bottom, he was laughing and jabbering and heading back to the ladder to go again!

Time to go with Mommy!

It seriously was fun. Haha.

Bouncing at the bottom with Daddy is SO fun!

"She thinks my tractor's sexy..." ;)

This one is more his size!

SO cute! Have I told y'all lately that I love this little boy?

Watch out ladies! Hahaha...

Beginning our great pumpkin search!

"This one Momma!"

"We found one, we found one!!!"

The family with our pumpkin!

Great picture Daddy! What a view!

My handsome boys!

We had a great time, and I'm sure we will be going back next year. Wonder how different things will be in another year?!?! We have had a wonderful summer, but I am looking forward to this fall weather and all the exciting things this new season holds for our family!

***For a flashback... check out my "9 years ago today" post below!***

9 years ago today...

I had my first date with this goofy guy!

Who knew then that we would be where we are now, but what a wonderful 9 years it has been! Murray always fills my days with love and laughter and has been a better husband and father than I ever imagined he would be... and I have a pretty good imagination! I love him now more than ever, and I can't wait to see what the next 9 years+ hold!!!

Like Father, Like Son

My last post bragged on how smart Murray was, but now I will switch back to how smart Cole is. Haha. What can I say, I am a proud momma...

Here is a video of Cole showing where his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hair, fingers, toes, and belly are. I know I'm biased, but I think that's really smart for a 14.5 month old!

Best belly laugh in this one! Also some of his old words and some of his new ones.

All that talking about his Bible made him go get it so he and Daddy could read it. Sweetest little boy ever!

Praying...

And finally... it's not all serious stuff around here! Having fun with Daddy before bedtime!

And here are some pictures of a fun day a while back with Mommy & Daddy... first the zoo of course!
Cole loves this huge globe... especially splashing in the water! He was soaked. Who needs the splash park?!?!

Watch out Daddy... looks like a crazy driver!

Checking out the monkeys!

"Cole- how's that oreo?" Haha.

Next... Bass Pro Shop! All our favorites in one day! He was ready to ride!

Just playing while Daddy tried on some hunting boots... this ramp provided lots of entertainment! I just loved how silly he looks running down it. And of course the babbling...

Turning around... so proud of himself!

Cole still loves that kid in the mirror! He now will high-five, pound, kiss, and say hi/bye to that cute friend!

This is just random, but tonight we had small group at our house. Murray was the first to open the Dr. Thunder and let's just say it rained all over our kitchen! I have never seen a 2 liter explode that way or that much! It was everywhere & all over Murray. I think you can tell by his face he was a little surprised and overwhelmed. Haha.

My Very Smart Hubby...

Murray had to take an in residency training exam the other day. Basically it was a way to check up on how well he is learning this stuff compared to all the other residents out there. There are no real consequences to it, and he didn't have to study for it because it should be testing him on knowledge he uses each day at work. So there really isn't a reward for doing well either besides a glowing blog post from his wife. ;)

For those of you who know Murray personally and not professionally, it may be hard to picture him as a serious doctor and surgeon when he is rolling in the floor tickling your kids or doing a crazy dance, but I am here to tell you he is who you want to see if you have a foot or ankle problem! Not just because I am his probably biased and very proud wife, but also because he scored so awesome on his test!!!

So there was the average score for both residents who have completed one year of residency and who have completed two years of residency. To avoid embarrassing him too much, I won't post the actual averages and his actual score. I will, however, tell you that Murray scored over a hundred points higher than both averages!!!

Murray~ I hope you know how much we admire your hard work and dedication to being the best resident you can be. You really are so smart, and we couldn't be any prouder. Love you so much.

Busy, Busy!

Murray had a busy weekend here so Cole and I headed to Memphis for our own busy weekend. We had a blast and got to be a part of a lot of fun stuff that we miss out on sometimes living away. First off.. we had Neesha's volleyball game. She was team captain, and they won!!!

Look at that pass...

And she had some awesome serves!

Cole was really into the volleyball game. =)

That night we celebrated my mom's birthday early with an awesome steak dinner and presents. Cole helped pick out this pretty shirt for his Nonny!

The next day I helped with a baby shower for one of my best friends who I went to school with from kindergarten through highschool. She is having a sweet baby boy in October.

Cutest cake ever- right?!?!

The table was actually part of Reena's present from my mom, Kels, and me. Kelsey refinished it for Reena's nursery. Isn't it so cute?

Some of Caleb's cute outfits that people gave him.

Meeting Caleb... can't wait till he is here to play.

Finally getting to play with Ainsley... sorta. This was actually a really funny interaction.

Me and Adrienne... babies together and now holding our babies. Crazy!

All of the highschool girls who were at the shower.

That night Logan had a show. He met up with his band to play in Memphis Saturday night. I haven't had a chance to hear his band from Harding yet so I was really excited to hear them... I only wish shows could be earlier. Haha. I am definitely not a night owl anymore if I ever was one. Cole was excited about Logan's show though... he may have slept right through it, but he was there in spirit!

A clip from Logan's show... I have better videos, but they are really long. His band is seriously awesome. If you want a CD... let me know. Only $5! ;)

It was a great weekend, but I have to admit... Cole and I were both REALLY glad to get home and see our favorite!

So Many Great Friends...

One thing that we have definitely been blessed with in Louisville are a bunch of fun families with sweet kids that Cole loves! We always can find someone up to go do something fun, and we always have a blast! Here are some pictures from our last few outings... date night with Davis (thanks for the babysitting and photos Liz!!!), zoo fun with Slade, Max, Lily, & Joseph, and park adventures with Will, Davis, Max, & Slade. Plus a few extras of going to work with Daddy...

Liz kept Cole for us one night last week so we could have a date! Cole had a wonderful time playing with his buddy Davis! Liz even took them out for a evening bike ride!

So sweet!

Bath time! They were serious about those bath toys!

LOVE this picture! So cute and all clean and fresh!

Group shot at the zoo... There was no way we were gonna get all of the kids looking and smiling, but at least they are all in the picture together. =)

Please click on this picture to look at it blown up... tell me these 2 aren't best buddies!

Cole's first experience with "the van" at the zoo... we have managed to miss it every time, but I have a feeling we won't be skipping over it anymore! Apparently all kids LOVE this thing!

Checking out the goats in the petting zoo- from a distance. I can't say I was too sad about that. They were pretty dirty. Haha.

We made it to the playground! Cole loved peeking out through the holes in the tunnel!

Lily & Max... such sweet friends and big siblings! They both watch out for Cole like he's their little brother too.

Slade could drive for days! He loves that wheel!

Is Joseph not adorable?!?! Don't let that innocent look fool you though... there is definitely a mischievous bone or bones in that little guy!!! Love him!

Getting ready for a day with Daddy while Mommy worked.

Even got to go to a meeting with Daddy! His bag was all packed.

He was so proud of it and excited about case discussions with the residents!!!

At the park... Davis is a little He-Man! Hanging on all by himself!

Silly Will! What's that tongue doing out of your mouth?!?!

All the kids enjoying the jungle gym!

Max climbing higher and higher!

Cole thinking he is as big as Max... can't take your eye off that boy for one second!

Here is a video of Cole sliding by himself.

Thanks for all the fun times this past week guys... looking forward to more!!!
