7 Months Old

IMG_5629

Little Hayesey (as your big brother and sister lovingly call you!), you are growing too fast.  I can’t even keep up with your monthly updates because these months are flying by too quickly!  Almost 2 weeks ago now, you turned 7 months old!  You have done some serious changing too!

One of the most noticeable changes is how good you are with your hands now!  I say this is most noticeable probably because I have noticed lots of drinks, plates of food, and other objects knocked over, pulled into your mouth, or dropped to the floor because I let your little octopus hands too close to them!  Momma is learning… sometimes a little too slowly… to keep you at more of a distance!  Haha.

You are pretty easy to forgive for all those messes though because you have also learned to give kisses.  They are wide mouth, slobbery kisses, but, when you decide to give them, I gladly accept!  You grab on and pull us in!  Sometimes you will be playing in my lap and all of a sudden remember I am sitting there with you.  You turn around and plant one on me.  Sweetest thing ever!  I love it!

You are also rolling EVERYWHERE- like even off the ottoman onto the floor.  Sorry!  You have been able to roll for a while now, but you have perfected it and love to do it now.  Especially during diaper changes!  Tough to get a moving target thoroughly covered!  It has made you happier in your bed now that you can get to the few toys I have in the corners when you wake up.  You also are sitting up really well now which is helping you enjoy toys more too.  You even get to sit in the grocery cart, in highchairs, and in the bathtub like a big boy now!

You have started eating a lot more baby food and love it all!  Green beans, sweet potatoes, and carrots are the main new veggies, and we have also tried a few fruits like peaches and pears so far. Your favorite things to eat right now are the Mum-Mum bars that make such a gross mess, but you can feed them to yourself and that makes them awesome!  You have also really enjoyed pizza crust!  And of course you beg (and by beg I mean pitch a big fit until I give in) for a ice cream cone any time you see it!  You are a smart boy and have not forgotten how yummy those are!

We had to give you your first hair cut.  It was way too long in the back and over your ears.  Jordan made the comment in the bathtub that you had a ponytail…  It was time!  You even had these funny little curls right behind your ears.  Most people hate to cut their babies curls, but these needed to go.  Sorry dude!  You look like a little man with your trim though!

You have about outgrown your swing (although I still use it occasionally to pretend you are still that little- haha) so we pulled out your exersaucer and borrowed one from Annie too.  Lucky boy… one upstairs and one down.  You really seem to love them both.  I love watching you bounce and giggle.  And the way you chew on the little bird reminds me so much of your big brother.  Cole loved to chew on that guy too!  Jordan even helps you enjoy your new toys! Haha.

You really like animals too!  You get so excited when we see some.  You love watching the fish eat fish food at the Botanic Gardens, pant when you see Nonny’s dog Lexi, are totally zoned in on all the animals at the zoo, and even touch the fish we catch.

Maybe your love for animals is why the main show you seem interested in is Mickey Mouse.  You don’t really even watch him for long, but you do watch him more than any other cartoons and always get a big smile on your face when you see him!

You have had your first pool experience and many since.  Thankfully you are a water baby and LOVE it!  You prefer to be held in the water as opposed to in your float, but you are pretty happy no matter what as long as you can splash, splash, splash!

Being outside is about your favorite thing!  You love going on walks in your stroller and have even ridden in the wagon!  You thought you were big stuff that day!  Sitting in the grass doesn’t bother you one bit.  You do try to eat it though… You are happy just being outside and definitely watching your silly brother and sister!

Little man, we love you to the moon and back and then even more!  You are the sweetest thing, and your smile (which you share so generously) melts us!  We enjoy you incredibly and are so grateful God made you ours!

PS-  I’m still trying to keep you little!  I sneak in cuddling as often as I can!

Swim Lessons

IMG_4697

Cole and Jordan both took swim lessons last month.  They had so much fun getting to be in the pool and are both little waterbugs!  Cole is pretty confident without a float.  Jordan still will be wearing one for a while, but she moves around the pool well and isn’t one bit afraid to jump in or get her face wet!

Jordan jumping in and practicing her swimming!

Cole jumping and swimming like a pro!

On the last day, they got to slide into the pool!

We got lessons done just in time!  The big pool and splash park at the gym opened, and we are so excited!

End of School Party!

Hayes and I got to celebrate the end of a great school year with Cole and his classmates!  Pretty Miss Jordan had a special date with her best buddies, the Pikes!  Cole was worried about her missing it.  He told me “Mom, It’s so sad!  Jordan has always wanted to go to a carnival, and it’s a carnival!”  Sweetest big brother ever!  She was pretty happy with her special attention and painted fingernails and toenails though!

Cole got over Sissy not being there pretty quick when he saw the bouncy house!  Popsicles helped too!

Next came face paint and tattoos!

Cole has been blessed with such a sweet teacher both years at Highland Day School!  Mrs. Jean was the perfect first teacher, and we couldn’t love Mrs. Sara more!  She has taught Cole so much and helped him to love school!  She is wonderful, and we will miss seeing her so often!  Thank goodness we bump in to Mrs. Jean AND Mrs. Sara in the church hallways!

So proud of my big boy finishing his 4 year old preschool year!  He is so smart and so sweet.  He is friends with everyone, and he loves to be a helper.  Mrs. Sara gave him rave reviews, and now we are off to JR. Kindergarten in the fall!  Growing up too fast!!!
