We had an amazing Spring Break! I know, I know… Cole is only in Parents’ Day Out 2 days a week, but still! It was Spring Break so we acted like it! The first weekend we headed to Huntingdon to celebrate our sweet nephew’s birthday. Banks turned one and had an awesome party to prove it! As always, the kids loved seeing Mimi and PopPop and playing with cousins!
Monday and Tuesday we had the prettiest weather! We spent all day both days outside. We headed to a local park, had a picnic, fed ducks, and played, played, played.
Look what Cole did all on his own!
Cole was the sweetest big brother. He pushed Jordan on the swing for the longest time and even played Daddy’s funny game with her.
Hayes was a sweet brother too. He loved watching the kids play and swing. Every time I would push Jordan, he would laugh out loud thinking she was “getting” him. So funny!
Such a sweet shadow… Love that baby girl!
I suggested a trip for ice cream when we left the park, and Cole said “I have a great idea, why don’t we take a bike ride there?” When I told him it was too far, he said “I can do it Mom! I really can!” So we set out for Chickfila with Cole on his bike and Hayes and Jordan in the jogging stroller. Chickfila is just shy of 2 miles away. He made it all the way there and back!!! He was SO proud of himself. Jordan was pretty happy that he made it all the way too. Haha.
On the way home, he wanted to stop for a picture to remember how he went the whole way.
To continue our outside fun, we headed to the zoo with friends on Tuesday.
Wednesday was colder and kinda rainy so we stayed in and snuggled!
My parents picked Cole and Jordan up Wednesday afternoon to take them to the lake for the rest of the week. Murray, Hayes and I were headed there after Murray finished with surgery Thursday. Murray got together with a buddy for dinner Wednesday night so Hayes and I went on a sushi dinner date. Haha.
And slept in Thursday morning!
We loaded up after Daddy got home from work and headed to the lake. Sweet boy slept the whole way! And I think that he may be my blanket baby!
The kids had a big time playing with everyone before we got there!
These two sweet buddies make me so happy. I love, love, love them and their friendship!
Once we got there, Daddy took the kids to get crickets and then the real fun began. We always catch some fish off the dock, but this time the fish must have been starving! We caught fish after fish… brim, sunbellies, a catfish, a couple crappie, and lots of stripers (which were the kids’ favorites!). Oh the excitement!!!
And if that weren’t enough fun, we added the adventure of a kayak ride to the island to it!
We also played some pool, watched a little tv, and napped some, but most of our time was spent outside!
Enjoying the hammock…
Building a fire!
Playing in the sand…
Assisting Poppy with a home improvement project…
We also enjoyed seeing some of our Indiana family. We were so happy to meet Chase and Ritsiko’s new baby boy Kento! He and Hayes are only 2 months apart!
Jordan hit it off big time with Alicia. Sweet Alicia only read her about a million books. Haha.
And of course she had her Aunt Kelsey time!
Before we left, I gave the kids a shower in my parents’ bathroom. The tub in there has an antique-looking faucet, and Jordan confused it with a telephone. Too cute! Honestly, I was pretty happy she even knew phones looked like this!
Sunday we spent the afternoon coloring and doing puzzles. Thanks to Target’s dollar section for the cute puzzles and fun entertainment! Cole made me so happy when he wrote “Cole” and “Mom” in the colored by box at the bottom. Such a sweetie pie!
Working together…
We finished the night and Spring Break with Daddy’s favorite Disney movie- Robin Hood! The kids (despite their excited expressions) really loved the movie. In fact, Cole asked at bedtime “Can we have a good day tomorrow just like this one and watch Robin Hood again?”
And little bit was a happy camper all day long! Sweet baby boy!
Back in our regular routine again this week, but now we are very much looking forward to summer break!!!
