Fall Break

I am all out of order on these posts, but at least I am trying!  The first full week of October, the kids had Fall Break.  We decided not to really make a big trip or anything since we had done the beach this summer.  We did travel a little bit… to the lake and Huntingdon.  We spent a few days in each place and a few days in Memphis.  It really worked out perfectly and allowed us to do a little of a lot of different fun things!  So- get ready for picture overload!

PICKWICK!!!  Oh how I love it there!  It is my place.  Whether it’s sunny and I get to relax in the warm sun or it’s fall and I need to bundle in a sweatshirt and jeans by the fire, it just feels good!  The only downside to our time there this time was we went while Murray was working, and we missed him!

We did LOTS of snuggling!

And lots of bonfires which of course means lots of s’mores eating!

And there’s always a lot of playing!

Cole helped Poppy a lot while we were there.  Digging holes for plants, keeping the fire going, working on a 4 wheeler… so thankful for the way my dad lets Cole tag along, answers a million and one questions, listens to random facts and stories, and mostly invests in their relationship.  I know for a fact that Cole is going to be a better, more Christ-like person because my Dad loves on him so well.

Nonny also had the fun idea this time of going on a nature hike.  She, of course, even had fun buckets to store any treasures we found along the way!

Kyndall worked on her talking skills too!  It really seemed like she was trying to say “hi” back to me!

And we fished!  I think everyone caught at least one with Poppy’s help, and Cole caught one completely on his own… he casted, set the hook, and reeled it in independently!  So proud of my boy!  And doesn’t he look so (too) big in these pictures?!?!

 IMG_7275 IMG_7274IMG_7276IMG_7259 IMG_7260

Oh the excitement!  So stinking cute!

 IMG_7265 IMG_7266 IMG_7268 IMG_7269

He was a little nervous to take his eyes off the fish for a picture though!  Haha.

IMG_7271

We let him reel it in again on his own… poor fish!

We also enjoyed the riding toys on the new driveway!  Too much fun!  It was hard to leave!

But thankfully, we had some fun things planned to do in Memphis.  Cole had quite the list of things he wanted to squeeze in since he misses out on these trips a lot now that he is in school full-time.  The Children’s Museum was pretty high on that list, and we had a gorgeous day for it!

We played outside a while on the playground.  I think they would have stayed on the swings the whole time!

Kyndall and I were getting warm in her wrap though so we moved the party inside!  We went to the toddler/preschool area, and even Kyndall got to play! :)

Cole passed his time in the “baby” section playing with an etch a sketch for the first time.  He thought it was pretty cool!

IMG_7360  IMG_7363

And he had plenty of time in the “big kid” parts too!

IMG_7359IMG_7382 IMG_7376IMG_7375  IMG_7377

He even ran into a buddy from school there too!

IMG_7379

And look at my boy’s hulahooping skills!

She had all the fun she could bear!

IMG_7384

Next up… Gibson’s and Shelby Farms!  But not before singing Happy Birthday to Aunt Kelsey and Uncle Joseph!  We recorded a version for each of them.  This is just the one where Hayes really sings out, and I have to share it because it’s the best thing ever!

IMG_7398 IMG_7399

Cheesing with his flowers behind his ears like the one Cole gave me to wear… He cracks me up!  Mine’s there.  You just have to look hard.

IMG_7411IMG_7403

I love it when my kids play together sweetly!  Not something I take for granted!

IMG_7408

We left Shelby Farms just in time to make it to Princess Story Time.  It was Kyndall’s very first Story Time!

IMG_7418 IMG_7422 IMG_7425 IMG_7429

The next two pictures really have nothing to do with Fall Break except that they technically did happen during that week, and I need for Hayes to see them when he gets older.  Haha.  I left Kyndall playing happily in the floor for a minute to return to this after hearing her crying… She had been on her belly in front of that mirror toy.  “Wow, thanks Hayes… but only mommy picks her up- ok?!?!?!”

IMG_7433

He came up to Kyndall saying “eat mine!”

IMG_7447

And just when we thought Fall Break in Memphis couldn’t get any better… Daddy took us all to Chuck E Cheese for dinner!!!!  Best Dad ever?  I think so!

IMG_7435 IMG_7438 IMG_7444IMG_7442

Last day of Fall Break in Memphis… Pink Palace!  This was actually the most important place on Cole’s list.  He LOVES it!  They all do.  They love every bit of it- except the dinosaurs scare Hayes.  We lucked out this time though because the toy train exhibit was there, and I was pretty sure he was not going to come home with us!

Not the best picture, but they tried hard for me… Haha.

We also took care of Neesha’s kittens while everyone was at the lake.  We thought we had lost one, but were OH SO EXCITED when we found it!

IMG_7478

On to spend the weekend in Huntingdon! Things got sill right from the start!

IMG_7487

And Kyndall thought Grandmomma Sara was too funny!

IMG_7490 IMG_7493 IMG_7495

Jordan LOVES her Mimi!

IMG_7498

Kyndall’s first time in an exersaucer!  It was a hit!

IMG_7503IMG_7508IMG_7510

While the girls were all busy hanging out and chitchatting, the big boys headed to a Bethel football game!

IMG_7507

And my kids waited ALL summer for the ice cream man to come around.  We had one come too often at our old house, but we didn’t hear/see one all summer at our new house.  They were pretty pumped when one came rolling by Mimi and PopPop’s!  After all the other fun things we did, I am pretty sure that this made their Fall Break.  Haha.

IMG_7515

Ended Fall Break snuggling with this sweet girl!  She has an awesome smile!

IMG_7520

I needed that snuggle too because the next day I had this to tackle…

IMG_7528

At least I had my little “helper!”

IMG_7538

It was a great week!  I was pretty worn out from all our fun, but I loved having all my babies with me.  I couldn’t have remained that “fun” of a mom for much longer, but for just a week it was worth it!  I definitely still have moments where I would like to clock out, but it’s times like these that I am reminded just how blessed I am to be able to stay home with them. What wonderful memories!
