20 Months

IMG_3463

Hayesie… I promise I just wrote your 19 month post.  The time just slips away!  The fact that you are in your 20’s kills me a little because that means 24 months is around the corner, and you cannot be that close to two!  However, even if I don’t want to believe it, you are pretty adamant that you are BIG!

In fact if I could only describe you with one phrase right now, it would have to be “he thinks he is as big as Cole and Jordan!”  This is super cute when you are copying the things that they are doing- even if it is peeing in the backyard.

This is not so cute when you pitch a huge fit over not being able to actually do what you think you should be able to do.

You, my sweet boy, would stay outside all day long.  This Memphis heat doesn’t seem to phase you one bit.  You WAY outlast your big brother and especially your big sister when it comes to that.  Haha.  You play hard and sleep hard!  You usually only take one nap a day now, but some days you still definitely need two.  You have also started to want to snuggle with something when you sleep.  It varies from sleep to sleep, but I snuck a picture of you sleeping with one of Jordan’s baby dolls that you love.  Sweet, sweet!

You copy everything we say, and you are beginning to say more and more phrases on your own.  This is really helpful!  Poppy said the other day that he can’t wait until you really start talking clearly because he knows some funny stuff is going to come out of that mouth of yours!  I think he is absolutely right!

For as young as you are, you have a GREAT imagination.  You are constantly pretending to be some kind of animal- especially the loud, scary, roaring kind!  You are great at playing doctor and correctly use all the instruments to check my eyes, ears, heart, reflexes.  The other day you brought me one of Kyndall’s swaddle blankets and let me know that it needed to be tied on like a cape.  You ran around and around our loop as Super Hayes!

You continue to love to help me do things.  You will help me clean, cook, do laundry, wash/put away dishes… I hope this continues to be something you enjoy!!!

You still have your mischievous side for sure!  Maybe even more so lately since you have realized that I am tied up at times with Kyndall.  The other day you tried to flush an entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet.  I also caught you hiding in Jordan’s bed eating the big kids’ toothpaste!  Quiet is scary with you, stinkpot!

You are also tough as nails!  Daddy calls you our little bulldozer, and it is a pretty accurate description!  You hardly ever complain about scratches or bumps, and everyone better watch out when you join the wrestling match!  We have had a few biting incidents, and we are working hard to learn that isn’t how we play!

You LOVE to make people laugh.  You think it is the best thing ever, and you find pretty great ways to do it too.  Check out your BIG feet and your funny use for our tortilla basket!

You are an excellent eater!  You even prefer my salad over nuggets, and the other night you chowed down on some asparagus!  Can you teach the others?!?!

You have become quite the Momma’s boy the past month or so.  You want Momma to unbuckle you from the car, Momma to put on your shoes, etc.  Things you used to be fine with Cole or Jordan helping with, you now insist that MOMMA does!  It keeps me super busy, but luckily you sprint for the door the second you hear your Daddy get home and want him pretty much from then on.  You are at least equally a Daddy’s boy!  I do enjoy your sweet snuggles and hand holding that have become more needed though!

You are such a joy, little man.  You aren’t at the easiest stage ever, but your smile melts me and your personality is so precious.  You adore your Daddy, love your big brother and sister, and are so sweet to Baby Kyndall.  I love my time with you!  God definitely made you something special!
