First off, can I just say that it is absolutely CRAZY that we are so close to our due date?!?! I mean, the countdown ticker is in the single digits now! We really couldn't be more excited that our baby boy will be here soon. I'm already having trouble falling asleep at night because I can't stop thinking about all the last minute things I need to get done or what he will look like or how it will happen (water breaking, contractions, induction, etc.)! Murray on the other hand is twitching away beside me before I know it. Not that he is any less excited than I am- that's what being the resident on call will do for ya! He has been so cute though trying to stay awake to answer all my questions or listen to my ramblings.
Anyway, I am actually feeling pretty good considering I am just shy of 39 wks pregnant. For a while, the KY heat was definitely something for me to get used to after the cool Chicago weather, but I'm used to it again and ready for Cole to get here more because of excitement than because I'm tired of being pregnant. At my last appt. I was 1 & 1/2 cm dilated, but maybe I will have made a little more progress when I go back this Wednesday! So... onto what Cole has been up to for the past 6 wks or so.
Wk 33- About 4 & 1/2 lbs and gaining around 1/2 a lb a week! Busy getting antibodies from me to protect him once he is born.
Wk 35- About 5 & 1/2 lbs and around 20 in long. Not much more length growth from here on out, but he will continue to pack on the lbs! Brain development is going crazy from now on. Also a plus, baby should be head down now, & according to the doctors- he is!
Wk 37- Weighs about 6& 1/2 lbs. Considered full term today! Starting to get dimples and creases from all the fat he's accumulating. =)
Wk 38- My doctor says Cole is right around 7 lbs!
Wk 39- Still working on brain development and getting ready for delivery. Come on out!!!
Maybe the next post will be about the birth of our baby!!! Who knows? Haha.

Fourth of July Celebration!
To start this post, I need to brag on my sweet husband. He has been on call this week, and I think he is doing such a great job. Most of the calls have come during the day- making for long days, but at least he is home for the night. Thursday night, he got called at 11:15pm and ended up not getting home until 4:30am! Despite being his first week of work, learning tons of new stuff, and taking call, he has managed to always find time for us. In the last few days before Cole gets here, I am valuing my time with just him more than ever!
So... on the quality time topic... We didn't know how much we would get to do for the fourth because he is on call this weekend. Plus I heard that it was supposed to rain on July 4th. After Murray's late night on call, he slept in some, but woke up ready to have fun so we decided to celebrate a day early.
We started out the afternoon at the Louisville zoo. We bought a year membership so that we can take Cole to the zoo any time we want. =) I know we will probably enjoy taking him more than he will enjoy going this first year, but that's ok. Here are a few pictures of us sorta taking Cole for the first visit. Haha.

Later that night, we met up with J.J., Emily, & their boys. J.J. was in school with Murray and now is a resident at the other Louisville podiatry program. Emily stays home with Gabe (almost 4) and Garrett (almost 2) so we are excited to hang out some as stay at home moms! There was a big festival downtown at the riverfront so we headed there for the fireworks show. They had a lot of free bouncy things for the kids, and Joe Nichols performed for free too. We had a great time playing with the boys and getting to know J.J. and Emily better.

Besides Cole- what everyone's been waiting on... =)
So there are still a few things that I would have liked to have done before posting these pictures, but I decided I had kept the masses waiting long enough. Haha. I know all of you are just dying to see pictures of our new house so without further ado...

The backyard:
Inside the living room. The tvs on the right are waiting to be sold. We don't really need 3 tvs in our living room. Haha. Also, Kels refinished the entertainment center and end table for us. Don't they look great?
Until then we are using our old ones. Plus the mirror will be actually hung on the wall once the new sofa is here.
View from the hallway. Still need curtains on the dining room windows and a rug, but waiting until our furniture comes in to decide what looks good.

Looking at the dining room from the living room:

Here is the dining room table we ordered.

The kitchen:

We are also planning on putting half cabinets and a microwave above the stove.

Hallway from living room leading to all bedrooms and bathroom:

Our bedroom. Imagine that the metal decoration above the bed is actually hanging there instead of just being propped. It will look a lot better when it's in right spot and position. Haha.

Cole's nursery!!! I just love it!!!

The walls are a light green. Kinda hard to tell with the lighting in these pictures. Kelsey also made the letters above his crib and refinished the bookcase. She's just a little Martha Stewart!

Murray's office... still could use some work, but he says he likes it like it is.

The rest of the attic... isn't it so nicely organized? Again, I have a great husband. Plus an extra bed if we have so many visitors, or we just don't like you enough to let you stay in the guest bedroom. JK!!!

Eventually we will change the countertops and put in a dishwasher next to the fridge.

Laundry room. Please notice my awesome shelf that Murray put in for me! Such a good husband. =)

Aren't we prepared? Couldn't resist. Haha.
Guest bedroom... no excuse not to visit now!

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby!!! (not ours)
So weekend before last, we loaded up all our stuff into a moving van on Thursday, drove to Louisville to spend the night, and then headed home to Huntingdon Friday morning for Murray's cousin's wedding. This was definitely our last trip for a while since Cole could really come at any point now! It was fun to see all of Murray's family again one last time while I was still REALLY pregnant. Can't tell you how many times I heard "Wow... baby is really growing!" or "You'll never make it to July 14th!" Haha. Have to admit, I kinda hope they are right about the never making it to 7/14, but I don't know that they are. And, although I do hope that Cole is growing like he needs to, I really hope that they are wrong about how big he may be!!!
Murray's cousin, Andrew, married his highschool sweetheart, Meagen, and everything was really beautiful... the bride, ceremony, reception, etc. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

SURPRISE!!! Rachel and Lyle (Murray's cousin and her husband) announced after the wedding that they are expecting their first baby Jan. 18th! Murray and I are SO excited that Cole will have another little one to run around with when we come home to visit! Our family is growing and growing! God is good!
