Swimming Lessons

IMG_1986 Cole and Jordan spent about an hour each morning the last couple weeks working on their swimming skills.  For Cole, this was more of a refresher and a chance to improve his ability to take a breath and continue swimming.  For Jordan, this was to keep her from sinking to the bottom of the pool!  They took lessons from a lady in our neighborhood (so convenient!), and she did a great job meeting them at separate skill levels.  They both progressed a ton!

A basic back float… neither could do this at the start.

By the end of 2 weeks…

Diving for toys on the bottom… Cole is awesome at this now, but I didn’t get a more updated video toward the end of lessons.

She worked with them on front glides, then added kicks, and finally arms.  Here’s how each progressed through the lessons.

Cole got to work on deep end jumps and dives at the end of the lessons!  He was pumped.

Proud of these two little fish, and I’m excited for all our pool fun to come this summer!

End of Tball!

Cole’s t-ball season has come to an end, and we are all kind of sad!  It was busy, but so fun!  This was by far my favorite season yet… not sure if it is because of who was on his team, how well Cole did, how organized it was compared to past experiences, or a combination of them all, but it was great!  We really did have 7 little boys from church on his team.  They had a blast together!  Cole, you loved playing with Connor, Emory, Zachary, Griffin, Bryce, and Ethan!

This was actually at his second to last game.  The other team no-showed so it ended up being a practice.  The boys practiced sliding into home base, and you would have thought Cole won the World Series after he did a perfect slide!

Checking out a little snake before the start of the last game.  You know Jordan had to get in on that action!  She and Cole were both the first to reach out and touch it.  Proud momma???  That’s definitely a trait from their daddy!

Up to bat!  He connected with the pitch all but maybe twice this season, and had some really great hits!  Ready for coach pitch!

Running bases!

Sliding into home…

One thing we learned this season, snacks and chairs are a must for the peanut gallery!

Cole had a lot of people cheering him on in his last game!

Not sure who has enjoyed this season more… Cole or Coach Dad!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boys!

The game was cool and all, but they also enjoyed looking for cicada shells…

Good game, good game, good game…

Team Cheer!

IMG_1919

Cole was in charge of snack for a game that got rained out so we volunteered to bring something for the last game.  He was SO pumped to pick out just the right thing and couldn’t wait to share it with his teammates!  Chips and Gatorade!

We were always the last to leave the field.  Partly because we have a tendency to stand around and talk.  Partly because Hayes and Jordan have to “play” too!

Daredevils!

Cole’s team celebrated the season with a pizza party!  They had a little arcade room, and Cole loved playing pinball and Pacman!

He also got a pretty cool trophy and his very own baseball cards from his coaches!  I love his game-face!

Thankful for a fun season with fun friends!
