Rainy Day(s) Fun!

It has rained ALL WEEK LONG!  For those of you who know Cole at all, you know that really cramps his style!  He is an active, outside kinda kid!  We had to come up with some fun inside activities to calm the stir-craziness!  Winking smile  We took a family trip up to Bass Pro Shops to see the animals and fish.  Cole always has fun visiting, and Daddy doesn’t mind it too much either.  Haha.  This was Jordan’s first trip so it was a momentous trip that had to have some photo documentation.

Happy to see the fish!

I think Jordan is saying “WOW!  Look at all these animals!”

Hiding in our camo tent!

Watch out!  Crazy driver!

This is my teddy bear from when I was little.  Cole rotates through which stuffed animal is his favorite, and the past couple days, Corduroy has been it.  He had to take his “teddy” with him on our trip.  So cute.

This morning we headed to All About Kids for some fun.  Cole LOVES this place.  We actually had a lady ask me how often we go there because he seemed so comfortable.  Haha.  We definitely needed some fun physical activity after all the inside play time this week.  We appreciate the rain, but we are also ready for a little pretty outside weather too!  I hadn’t taken videos or pictures of Cole there in a while, and he is able to do so much more now.  I still didn’t get as much as I would have liked, but here are a few…

Climbing up to the big slide… he used to be really timid about this.  Not anymore.  In fact, he is busy telling the little girl behind him to wait because it’s his turn.

Wheeeee!

He has always loved the ball pit… I was really glad to see new clean balls there this time!

I love how he is paying such good attention to the instructions and rules.  Such a good boy.

We are MUCH more coordinated on the trampoline run!

So proud of himself!

P1180498

Look at those balancing skills!

Front flip time!

Jordan was just a happy girl looking at all the bright colors and busy boys and girls!

Hoping for some pretty weather again soon, but we are making the most of our time no matter what!

More Jordan…

I just switched out a bunch of Jordan’s clothes for the bigger sizes.  I love this little outfit.  Isn’t she just a little doll?!?!

P1180421P1180423

And here is a video of her sweet talking.  I think she is gonna be a little loudmouth.  Haha.  Sorry about the background noise… Cole decided it was a great time to play with the loudest teddy bear we own and sing along.  Winking smile  It’s actually a pretty cute video of him too if listen to him singing.

Daddy’s Home Celebration!

If you keep up with our blog somewhat regularly, you probably know that August was a busy, busy month for Murray.  He was on an Orthopedic Trauma rotation.  He has to have 6 months on this rotation throughout his 3 year residency, and, what you may not know, is that August was his LAST one ever!!!  We cannot even start to explain how happy we all are to have those over with.  Don’t get me wrong, it is a great rotation because he learns so much, gets to do some really cool stuff, and sees all kinds of crazy injuries.  We just like having him home some too…  Winking smile

To celebrate the end of the month, we headed to the pet store and came home with Cole’s first real pet.

So proud of his goldfish named Dorothy… bet you can’t guess how he came up with that name!  Haha.

Also, his first night off Murray took me to Ruth Chris for a late birthday dinner.  I had never been there before and probably won’t be back often, but it was SO WONDERFUL!  I really don’t think I have ever eaten a more delicious steak!  And dessert wasn’t bad either!  The restaurant itself is at the top of a really tall office building which made for a very pretty dinner view.  And of course, I couldn’t have asked for better company!

To finish off the celebration, we headed to TN for a long weekend.  We celebrated Murray’s 10 year high school reunion, my birthday, my sister’s special 13th birthday, and my brother’s ENGAGEMENT!  It was a fun weekend to say the least!

My mom, Kelsey, and Smith had set up a romantic dinner on this little island out on Pickwick lake during the day Friday.  Once we got there, Murray, Smith, Kels, and I made the last minute arrangements and hid out to get pictures.  Logan and Jennee were meeting us to “night fish.”  Haha.  Needless to say, she was a little surprised!

She said yes!

We thought she would so we had some fun reading for her when they got back to the cabin.

Neesh and I shared a birthday cake.  13 for her and 8 (better than 28) for me.

He looks so happy to take a picture with me, but he really looks like this because he had just gotten out of bed… at 12:30pm!

I had a sweet little helper.

By far the best present!  She found out about this present when one of her wrapped boxes starting ringing.  Haha.

Justin was probably Cole’s favorite this weekend.  He was a good sport about it too.  Lots of car playing!

After the party, Murray and left the kiddos and headed to Huntingdon for his class reunion.  It was great to see his friends and meet people I hadn’t met before.  Somehow I didn’t end up with any pictures, but one of his friends had these on her facebook page.  Here is Murray with a couple of his best friends.

We also really enjoyed watching those brave enough to hit up the dance floor.  Think this was the Cha-Cha Slide.

Cole and Jordan didn’t miss us too much either.  They had fun out on the boat with everyone.  Jordan had so much fun that she fell asleep sitting up.  Thank goodness for her head prop.  Haha.

Our 4 Month Old!

P1180241

Jordan is absolutely the sweetest little girl ever!  It is impossible not to smile when I look at her because, according to her Poppy, she is the “smilingest thing!” and it’s so true!  When she sees you, her face lights up and her whole body squirms.  I LOVE IT!  She also is a snuggler which I love too.  I don’t know if that desire to squeeze or kiss all over your kids ever just eventually goes away or if you just know you would totally embarrass them to do it, but I promise there is nothing better than kissing her sweet chubby cheeks!  She is just such a happy, easy-going baby.

She is starting to show a little temper here and there though if she doesn’t get what she wants.  Usually that just means she wants you to hold her.  It’s cruel but really funny to see her get so excited and happy when you pick her up out of the swing or carseat and then watch her go straight to furious when you lay her down to change her diaper.  Sometimes it’s more like it just breaks her little heart that you would do that to her.

She is getting more and more active.  She loves watching Cole play or talk to her.  He is enjoying her being able make more noises, grab at toys or his finger, and learn from him.  She has started getting frustrated when she can’t get a toy or can’t get it in her mouth.  She will just squeal at it!  She is like her brother and loves to be outside.  The few times she actually gets fussy, she will pretty much quiet right down if you just walk outside with her.  She is a trooper with the heat we have had this summer too!

She can now roll both ways, but it does still take quite a bit of effort.  However, the last 2 nights I have found her rolled over or with her head at the other end of the bed.  Haha.  Here is her big roll from back to front… Cole was a big helper luring her over with toys.  Smile

She does pretty well sleeping at night.  Most nights (although not last night… little booger) she will have anywhere from a 6-8 and occasionally 9 hour stretch so I’m usually only up once during the night.  Hoping this rolling over provides some more consistent, longer stretches!  She really just goes with the flow for naps during the day.  Most of the time I let her nap in the swing or on me if we are home, but she does pretty well napping in her carseat too luckily.  Cole has places to go and people to see.  Winking smile

We go for her 4 month checkup next Tuesday so I will have to post her weight and length then.  I figure she is still pretty average size because she is in 3 month clothes and still a few 0-3.  Her eyes are still blue, but I do wonder sometimes if they are changing.  Hair is still dark, but so was Cole’s at this point so we will see on that too I guess.  Here is a picture of Cole at this age.  Think they look alike?

This last picture isn’t from the best angle, but he was talking so sweetly to her, and they were just grinning at each other.  I cannot wait to see how this sweet friendship develops!
